The Hackney Pearl opened in December 2009. We want to make it the best local bar in London, serving great drinks, food and coffee to the locals of Hackney Wick. Somewhere to meet for a drinks, drop in for coffee, leave messages for friends & neighbours, escape the studio, hang out, read the books, grab a bite, pick up a bottle for home or stay and enjoy it here. Nothing fancy- just good & tasty & friendly. Keep it simple and do it well. Monday & Tuesday Evening Special: Only £11 for a main course with a glass of wine. Food: Our menu is seasonal and changes often. Produce is sourced as locally as possible without being bolshy about it. There are panini, soups, lovely salads & cakes served weekday lunches; with more brunchy things available at weekends. 2 or 3 main courses per day are be offered in the evenings & weekend lunches in addition to a range of small and sharing sized plates (and desserts of course!) Beer & Cider Most of our beers are from Meantime Brewery in Greenwich. We also serve Hackney Gold from Redchurch Brewery. Cocktails: Classic cocktails- No umbrellas- just well mixed booze! (Buy a cocktail between 5pm and 7pm from Monday to Thursday and get a second for nix!) Wines: We have a great range of wines by the glass and bottle. We have an off licence too so you can also buy a bottle to drink at home. (Wine Price Policy: We want our customers to have access to the best wines possible, so rather than marking up our wines on a percentage basis, we use a fixed markup instead. In real terms this means that a wine that costs about £20 on our wine list would set you back £26-£29 in another bar or restaurant. The further down the list you go, the better value you get.)
